Bamboo
Bamboo fabric is often hailed for its softness and promoted as a sustainable choice. However, the term "bamboo fabric" covers two very different materials, and the most common one is the product of a chemical-intensive process.
At Circular People, we’ve banned Bamboo Rayon/Viscose from our products because its production uses highly toxic chemicals that can harm both workers and the environment.
We do, however, accept and support genuine bamboo fabrics made with integrity. Our commitment is to sourcing materials with a transparent and verified supply chain.
Bamboo Linen: This rare fabric is made through a mechanical process that avoids harsh chemicals. We require that all our bamboo linen be traceable and sourced from FSC-certified forests.
Bamboo Lyocell: The lyocell process is a more sustainable, closed-loop chemical method. We are proud to source from partners who use this cleaner process and back their claims with third-party certifications like GOTS and Bluesign.
We are committed to sourcing only genuine bamboo textiles that align with our values of transparency and a toxics-free production process.
